James Cameron's new movie Avatar passed today Titanic in world-wide cross statistics. Titanic held it's previous record of $1,843 million for 13 years.

Cameron has now directed two world's top selling movies. There is plenty of marginal to third place movie The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King having total gross of $1,119 million.

Avatar's record will keep rising as it has only been in theaters for six weeks. It's only matter of time when it will pass the $ 2 billion mark.
